MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To monitor, support and provide input into the analysis, design and implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) suite of applications by means of effective collaboration between clinical services, business operations and the ICT department

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Educate and support physicians regarding the purpose and function of new and/or existing features of the EHR to ensure optimal utilisation of all intended features

Effectively collaborate with internal EHR teams (e.g. laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, HIM, etc.), relevant stakeholders and vendors to ensure optimal clinical workflows are reflected in the system

Provide leadership and guidance into EHR clinical governance matters

Actively promote and/or showcase EHR capabilities to internal and external stakeholders

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Medical Doctor (MD)

Board certification in a specialty with at least 2 years of clinical practice

Informatics Certification from an accredited institution (AMIA) is desired

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years of related experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) implementing and/or supporting clinical systems, process redesign and knowledge of clinical workflows in inpatient and ambulatory settings

Working with and/or implementing InterSystems TrakCare clinical applications and knowledge of clinical terminologies such as ICD, SNOMED, LOINC is desired

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Application of project management principles
  • Clinical governance principles and best practice
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of an integrated EHR and how to best achieve the optimal outcomes
  • Maintains a solid understanding of new trends in clinical information systems and new developments of health information exchange (HIE) standards
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of the UAE Healthcare industry including relevant regulatory requirements related to insurance
